Remembering the British Province of Carmelites in your Will
After you have provided for loved ones, why not support the other things in life that gave you joy?
The Carmelite Friars are an international Catholic religious order, founded in the early thirteenth century on Mount Carmel, Palestine.
Today, the Carmelites main purpose is to work with the people of God through prayer, fraternity and service; it works alongside all people of faith and goodwill, which is done through traditional Christian ministry and by being available to those who are often at the edges of Church and society.
The Trust serves the community throughout Britain: directing a large retreat centre, running parishes, working in prisons and hospitals, and running the Shrine of Saint Jude. It also supports Carmelite communities across the world, but particularly in Colombia, East Timor and Kenya.
By leaving a gift to the British Carmelites in your Will, you are helping to ensure that the work and ministry of the province will continue for many generations to come. All gifts, whether large or small are immensely important to the charity. It is thanks to so many of the legacies of the past that we have been able to continue our work, building God’s Kingdom on earth even when your earthly life is over.
Benefactors are remembered regularly in our prayers, and by making a bequest you can help us continue our vocation to preach the Gospel. Our deceased benefactors share in a Mass offered for them each month of the year and also in daily Mass during the month of November. We brought nothing into the world when we came and we will take nothing out of it when we leave, but the work of building God’s Kingdom continues after our death.
When you inform us of your intention to remember the Carmelites in your Will, we will offer you membership of the Fr Elias Lynch Society. There is no obligation to join – membership is simply a mark of gratitude and in recognition of your commitment to the future of the British Province.
Whether you have already written your Will, or have still to write one, including a gift to the British Province is a simple process which takes moments.
If you would like to speak to someone about leaving a legacy, please call Matthew Betts on 01795 539 214 who will be very happy to speak to you.
