Death of Fr. Conleth Doyle, O.Carm.
14 January 2016

It is with sadness, but trusting in the mercy of God, that the British Province of Carmelites announces the death today of Fr. Conleth (Tommy) Doyle, O.Carm.
Conleth was born in Athy, County Kildare, Ireland, in 1922. He joined the Carmelite Order, making his profession of vows on the feast of the Immaculate Conception, 8th December 1958. He was ordained priest on the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 16th July 1978.
In the course of his ministry he served in a number of communities, including Hazlewood Castle in Yorkshire, and Aylesford Priory in Kent.

In his final years he was cared for by the Sisters of Nazareth at Nazareth House in London. He died there peacefully, aged 93, just a week after his friend and co-resident, Fr. Joseph Kelly, O.Carm. Last night he gave a blessing to the sisters who had cared for him.

Conleth will be missed by his Carmelite Family, and his relatives with whom he kept close contact.
His funeral will take place at Aylesford Priory. The Reception of the Remains will take place during Evening Prayer at 6.30pm on Tuesday 19th January, and the Requiem Mass will take place at 11.30am on Wednesday 20th January.
May Fr. Conleth rest in peace, and rise in glory. Amen.
